TOPIC: URL problem when using Joomla Modules

URL problem when using Joomla Modules 2 years 6 months ago #2701

Hi
I need help...
I am trying to control joomla modules - the problem is this:
because the Jom Classifieds uses a search string it means that everything stays on the home page..?
In other words, If I set a Joomla Module to only show on the home page - It then STAYS on all the pages when visiting any category or advert.
Is there an easy way to solve this as I would like to show Joomla modules only on the pages I choose

Thanks
Andy

Could you not guide us on how to solve this ourselves, we are keen to learn rather than someone do it for us..
when you visit the website you will see "Green Boxes" these modules are set to show only on the home page.
when you either search or choose a category you will see that they stay when they should be gone

Hi,

For categories tree:

Kindly open the view.html.php file from the below path,

Root-->components-->com_jomclassifieds-->views-->categories-->view.html.php

And find the below code,
$item->target = JRoute::_($link.$item->id.':'.$item->alias.$itemId);

replace the code by the below one,
$item->target = JRoute::_($link.$item->id.':'.$item->alias);

For Search module:

Kindly open the default.php file from the below path,

Root-->modules-->mod_jomclassifieds_search-->tmpl-->default.php

And find the below code,
<?php echo JRoute::_('index.php?option=com_jomclassifieds&view=search&Itemid='.$itemId); ?>

replace the code by the below one,
<?php echo JRoute::_('index.php?option=com_jomclassifieds&view=search); ?>

Finally save and check your front-end.

Thanks.
