TOPIC: Search Result gives a system-message

Search Result gives a system-message 2 years 8 months ago #2108

Hi I have a number of articles in the classified directory and they show up on the page if selected (view image one)... However when no article can be found the Classified page is removed and replaced with a system message saying 'No item found' (view image two)... is it possible for the 'No items found ' message to be placed where an article would have been, (view image three)... instead of the message replacing the whole page.

I have put examples for you to understand my query:
- image one is showing search results... all is fine
- image two is what happens if no items are found
- image three is how I would like to see the page work

That's great! However in addition to adding this feature to a future version, will you be amending this issue for me?

Kindly open the view.html.php file from the below path

Root--> components--> com_jomclassifieds--> views--> search--> view.html.php

In this file search the code,
if(!$items) {
$msg = JText::_('ITEM_NOT_FOUND');
JError::raiseNotice( 100, $msg );
return;
}

And edit the code as below,
if(!$items) {
$msg = JText::_('ITEM_NOT_FOUND');
echo $msg;
return;
}

And finally cut and paste the above code after the below code.
$this->addTemplatePath( JOMCLASSIFIEDS_COMMON_TMPL );
parent::display($model->filter_view);

That's it. Save the file and check your front-end.

Thanks.
